Thank you to all the swimmers, sponsors and supporters of this year’s ‘Ian Daly Swim A Mile With A Smile’ charity swim. It was another huge success with all our swimmers enjoying the experience while raising funds for two worthy charities! Pictures from the main event in Ballyfermot Sports & Fitness centre are here. We had great support from many school and swimmers in this venue alone.
In October we will be presenting the funds raised from this year’s swim to our two charities, Crumlin Hospital and Barretstown. So if you have sponsorship you need to return we would appreciate if you could do so during September. The 2024 ‘Ian Daly Swim A Mile With A Smile’ took place at the Ballyfermot Sports & Leisure Centre pool on 13th and 14th April and was a big success! With many schools also taking part here we had over 300 swimmers complete the sponsored swim in this venue alone. The atmosphere was fantastic and all our swimmers achieved their swimming milestones with many exceeding their targets and having fun doing it! There are still swimmers completing the swim over their Summer holidays both abroad and all around the country as well. So, a big thank you to all participants. You can be very proud of your efforts! It really is a fun way to get fit for the Summer months and raise valuable sponsorship for our two charities, Crumlin Hospital and Barretstown.
The good news is that it is not too late to take part in this year’s event. Over the next few weeks and months many swims and fundraising events will be taking part, organised by enthusiastic locals. You can be a part of this by emailing Brian & Laura on iandalyswim@gmail.com . We will provide you with all the material you need to organise and run your sponsored event, whether it is for one or one hundred participants! Look forward to hearing from you!

The 2023 ‘Ian Daly Swim A Mile With A Smile’ took place at the Ballyfermot Sports & leisure Centre pool on 22nd and 23rd April and was a big success! We had over 90 swimmers complete the sponsored swim in this venue alone. There are still numerous satellite events to take place all around the country as well. We are delighted with the response we got this year.
The atmosphere was fantastic and all our swimmers achieved their swimming milestones with many exceeding their targets and having fun doing it! Recently cheques for €25,000 were presented to Barretstown camp and Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin by Brian & Laura Daly. The funds raised were the result of their annual ‘Ian Daly Swim A Mile With A Smile’. 2019 was the 16th year of the swim and in that time the event has raised over €607,000 which has been divided equally between Barretstown and Crumlin.

Thank you to all the swimmers who took part and to their generous sponsors. It is through your continued support that the event has continued to run each year.
We look forward to next year’s event which will take place in the National Aquatic Center at the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown over two weekends in May 2020.
